Can Online Gaming Change the Face and Luck of Atlantic City, NJ?

New Jersey has recently become the third state in the United States to pass an online gaming bill, the question is, once approved, can it help the city get on an upward track for revenues going forward? The Bill is known as AS 2578 has already received the green light from the NJ Senate and the New Jersey State Assembly. Now, the entire matter rests on the discretion of Chris Christie, the Governor of NJ. Within next 35 days, he has the option to sign or veto this bill that has been in the works for a few years. The bill will become a law if the Governor decides to sign it. Hotel and casino owners and local residents may recall that almost two years ago, Chris Christie vetoed a similar bill citing concerns relating to the boundaries of Internet cafes and the state constitution. What are the Advantages of…

History of the Game Monopoly in Atlantic City

Atlantic City and Monopoly, Perfect Together. There have been many accounts of who actually invented the game of Monopoly.  The bottom line is that  Charles Darrow is best known for creating an Atlantic City variation of “Monopoly“, the  original game was called “The Landlords Game”.  Darrow was a salesman of heating and  engineering equipment but lost his job during the great depression, triggered by the stock  market crash of 1929.  He decided to create a handmade versions of the game and sell copies to his close friends. He launched Monopoly in 1933 and it quickly became a huge  success, so he decided to patent his invention. What’s truly amazing, is that today, the value of the properties on the Monopoly game board reflect the actual condition of the real streets in Atlantic City, NJ with Boardwalk and Park Place being the nicest and Mediterranean and Baltic being the slums. Expanison of Atlantic City International Airport Update

One of the potential ways to grow exposure to Atlantic City is through the expansion of the local airport located just a short distance from the Beaches, Boardwalk and Casinos. The grand opening of a brand new expansion project will take place early next week and is the beginning of a bright future for the ACY International Airport.  Their are several aspects that will contribute to more passengers choosing ACY and visiting all that the Jersey Shore has to offer.  Take a look at the changes in place or underway now. One of the most important factors is the addition the Federal Inspection for Foreign International Travelers that includes US Customs and Border protection and will allow for the processing of more than 100 passengers per hour.  This may open up more Caribbean and international options for inbound travel. One of the coolest public art parks in the world arrives in Atlantic City and is being guided by legendary art curator Lance Fung.  What could be better than a World Renown Outdoor Art Park called “Artlantic”?  Artlantic is a 5 year project that utilizes underdeveloped land in Atlantic City and converts it into green space and unique art exhibits. The overall project will be rolled out in phases, the first two of four are almost complete and ready for viewing.  Phase I is named “Wonder”,  a beautiful open space art park located at the boardwalk on the former site of the Sands Casino.  Phase II is called Wonder – “‘Etude Atlantis” and is an amazing artistic display located near the Tropicana Casino at Iowa Ave and the boardwalk. Strom Update! Atlantic City Not Damaged as Bad as News Reports

As a local here in Atlantic City, I’ve watched countless hours of television coverage regarding Hurricane Sandy and the associated storm flooding damage.  Most of the coverage I saw, was focused on the north end of Atlantic City also known as the inlet. The news stations concentrated heavily on eight blocks of boardwalk situated in the far North East corner of Atlantic City, NJ.  One very important fact to make known is; this area of Boardwalk located i the inlet, was already scheduled for demolition and restructuring, construction work on this area was slated for December 2012. In other words, the damaged section of boardwalk shown over and over again on TV was old and dangerous before Hurricane Sandy approached and hit the Jersey Shore.   The other important fact is; this particular area of the resort town is nowhere near the casino and tourism district or the center of of the city. The north end inlet area was damaged back in May 2012, …

Resorts Casino and Mohegan Sun What Does it Mean?

August 13, 2012
By
with Resorts Atlantic City

Atlantic City, NJ – What will the new partnership between Resorts Casino and The Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority mean to Atlantic City?  At first glance it looks like it immediately makes Resorts more competitive, in the past, it stood alone with no partners in any other gaming destination or city and was forced compete with companies that have partners all over. The Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority manages Mohegan Sun in Connecticut and the Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs in Pennsylvania.  It’s regional connection will help to generate better customer loyalty programs and cross promote special events in a big way.  This relationship is the first of it’s kind and gets an Indian Tribe into AC for the very first time. Resorts recently signed an agreement to add some life in the form of Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville and Land Shark Grill brands. http://blog.achotelexperts.com/margaritaville-and-land-shark-grill-coming-to-atlantic-city/ This along with larger number of customers to market too equals,…
