In this post, you will find tips on where to park, where to watch as well as AC Airshow Hotel Discounts, have fun and enjoy the 2nd largest Air Show in the United States of America.

Parking Tips For This Event – You probably already know that Atlantic City is a drive in city, this is good news for you as there are enough parking spaces to support over 250,000 automobiles and buses.  Please remember there 3 ways to enter, the AC Expressway, Route 40 Black Horse Pike and Route 30 White Horse Pike.  Also don’t forget there is a train that will bring right into the center of the action to the terminal at the Convention Center.

  • If you arrive early enough, say before 9am, you can target the NJTA surface lots just off the expressway across from the Tanger Outlets and near Boardwalk Hall just off Atlantic Ave.
  • If you think you’re early enough, you can go after the prime parking at Caesars, Trump Plaza, Underground at Boardwalk Hall.
  • Note – you can park at the old Surf Stadium and Bader Field on Albany Ave, Black Horse Pike and ride the Jitney into the boardwalk, this is a great option.
  • Otherwise target public garages and casino parking away from the center of town.  This includes Revel Casino, Taj Mahal, Showboat, Resorts, New York Ave Garage, Bally’s, Atlantic Club and Tropicana.
  • If you want to avoid the pressure of parking all together, choose to park at Borgata, Harrah’s or Golden Nugget and take the jitney bus to the boardwalk.

Atlantic City Airshow Viewing Ideas and Tips

If you’re like me, you may ask “Where is the Best Place to Watch the Airshow”?  It’s not a simple answer however.   The 2013 Atlantic City Airshow covers the entire beach from the Atlantic Club Casino to Revel Resorts Casino with the center being Florida ave near Boardwalk Hall.

  • Grabbing a space at the beach and spreading out is really comfortable, this is our number one spot, enjoy the beach and the thrills!
  • All casino and hotel pool decks and outdoor spaces. If you’re staying overnight, odds are your hotel has a dedicated viewing section.
  • You can pay for VIP Seating at Bellevue Ave in the center of the action for $30 – $50 per person includes a meal ticket or all you can eat & drink presented by Flight Line Club Call 609-813-2121 for details.
  • One cool spot if you can grab a space, is the 1st and 2nd floor rear deck of the Pier At Caesars.  Access to all types of food and beverages.
  • Beach Bars – rest assured two prime spots are the Bally’s Sammy Hagar’s Beach Bar and Resorts Land Shark Grill, both are highly recommended.
  • One popular place for visitors and spectators is the top floor of any casino parking garage, the thunder from the planes fill like it’s just over your head.

You failed to mention that parking will be available at Bader Field for $10. This is the lowest price for parking and it includes a free shuttle to and from the Boardwalk. Easy in and easy out. No waiting in traffic. This service is being provided by the Atlantic City Jitney Association.

The video is poor quality and really difficult to see. I have a much higher quality one if you want it. I will be there this year too. just a thought!

Forget parking at the casinos on the day of the Airshow, they charged $35-40 the last few years and traffic is very bad getting out of the garage. Use the Free Parking at the old Surf Stadium and take a Jitney to the boardwalk or use the new Wave Parking Garage on Fairmount and Mississippi ave. Casinos are a ripoff. they jacked up rates. The amount they charged should be illegal, from $5 to $35?

Will there be any WWII planes like B-17, B-24, etc. If so, will they be viewable at the AC Airport and will they be flying over.

Guy, I don’t see any of the WWII planes listed on this years flight schedule. Should be a great show even without the planes you are interested in. As far as seeing anything near the airport, you will see them as they approach for landing or take off but the traffic patterns vary so you’ll get views of individual planes out there!

I heard previously that you can catch them running practice runs on the day before the show. Do you know if they do this?

There are a Spitfire, Mustang and a P-51 Busting on the schedule. They are both WWII aircraft.

Kat, yes, on Thursday you will catch a lot of what the actual show show will be in the air as they do their practice runs, best place to view is on the beach or Atlantic City boardwalk! Have fun.

Norman, you’ll see some action from Brigantine, the recommendation is to print the schedule so you can stay plugged in to what plans you are seeing matched with the time. AC Airshow Schedule

  17. Atlantic City Guy
    August 16, 2012 at 2:34 pm

Bob, Beaches are 100% FREE. Parking is your only expense, the Park and Ride at Bernie Robbins Stadium is one good way, the Wave Parking Garage at Mississippi ave and Fairmount ave is another good one, surface lots all over and casino garages.

How is the show viewing it on a boat?

  23. Atlantic City Guy
    August 17, 2012 at 1:53 pm

Most of the water in front of beaches is restricted, so the very nort or south end of beach is next best. Probably great from a boat, have fun!

Damage Control- The F-14 Tomcat has been retired for several years. They required twice the maintenance man hours per flight hour than the FA-18, and most were approaching the max hours before becoming unsafe

Can’t wait for this years Airshow, new dates are good and we are planning to spend a few days in Atlantic City for this event. This post really helped me figure out where to watch from, just a thanks for that!

The “Thunder over the boardwalk” will be a lot quieter this year… NO Thunderbirds! :(
I looked on their website and they didn’t list Atlantic City on their schedule. I’m going to research further, maybe Blue Angels instead of Thunderbirds.

    Quick question?
For the 2013 air show is it possible to catch the action on Tuesday as they practice? Unfortunately I won’t be there on Wednesday.
If so, do all the aircraft and annouoncers rehearse on Tuesday?
    Thank you,
    J

    June 17, 2013 at 8:24 am

Jorge, in previous years the flight list and schedule was much bigger so the day before the AirShow was always a great day to see a glimpse of the participating aircraft. Because there are fewer flights, you will see less activity on Tuesday. Have fun either way!
